TRIP UPDATE

Thursday, July 31, 2008
Been in Pennsylvania since Sunday and what a beautiful state. Did some motorcycle riding thru the foothills of the Pocono mountains. Monday our friends Neal & Kathy took us on a tour of the town of Jim Thorpe, It’s named after an Indian that was named the Worlds Greatest Athletic. Lots of very hilly streets. Very old town with lots of historic buildings. Did that on Monday and on Tuesday Denny, Kathy and Ken & I went out to venture on our own. Neal & Kathy’s mother was with them and she is 92 and not feeling well so they thought they better stick close to home for the day. Well went this way and that way, then this way, no idea where we were at, just riding, we had Besty (the GPS-on the motorcycle) and figured she could find our way back home. We stopped for lunch in a bar/restaurant in Krumsville and Ken got “pickled”. You will just have to ask Kathy what that means. we went to Hawk Mountains, but was a little disappointed because it did not have a look out point unless you hiked 5-6 miles up the hills, well of course that didn’t happen.
Betsy found our way back home and we had a few drinks with our friends Kathy and Neal and then had dinner, them to check out and to the bar. The rest had to walk back up the hill home, but I made a new friend, Nancy, with a four wheeler so go got a lift home with her.
The campground was all built up hill, so you had to go downhill to the bar and pool, so if you went there you know what that means???? All up hill to the coach. So we rented a Golf Cart, the bus, a three seater thing with no power, I thought we would have to be like Fred Flintstone and use our feet to help it up the hills.
Left Pennsylvania to Washington D.C on Thursday to see the President. Have to discuss the fuel prices with him. Will talk later Will get pictures together at a later date. On the road again.
Oh and for all of you that have not heard nephew Travis and Gal, Kim are engaged to be married next year.
Well got to Washington DC and called our friend Senator Russ Feingold and are going to get a tour of the Capital Building tomorrow. Well better go for now and see if the Pres. Is available Uncle Smiley
