TRIP REPORT

Out Trip out East. July 24, 2008 with Denny & Kathy Patten
Left Home 3:30 p.m. Thursday July 24, 2008 and are going to meet up with Denny & Kathy( friends from Friendship, Wi and also neighbors in Florida) at the
Flying J at the Wisconsin Border. Well we met up with them and they were only about 10 minutes ahead of us so timed that just right. On the road now.they in their motorhome and us in ours. We traveled to Elkhart, Indiana to a rest stop to sleep over night. Then off to our first stop . TLR resort in Union City, Michigan. Going to stay here for 2 nights. Friendly people and nice campground. Just that we were put in an area that there was not any people so had to walk to see people, but we did have the gophers. I think my golpers back home told their friends here that they really bug me so look for us. Well there was lots of them there, and big tunnels too. Nessie could almost stick her head in them holes. Saturday we took a motorcycle ride to a Harley Dealer, (surprise, surprise) so where else would we ride. Any way about a hour or so away so nice ride. Stopped at a fruit stand and got peaches and blueberries. Mmmmmmmmmm
Back at campground we set up our (testical toss game) as we will now refer to “Hillbilly golf“, for grandkids , may be reading this. This is a game that is two golf balls attached together with a foot of string and thrown at a rack with three cross pole to score points and each player throws three of these balls and score to win. Well anyway Ken & Kathy were playing and Kathy lost one of her strings with two bright yellow golf balls, well the grass was short and the balls bright yellow so where the heck could it go. Well Denny and I joined the search and the we all noticed there was a gopher hole right under the game post, well, no way did we think the balls could have went down there, so all four of us were on our knees looking at this hole, and was dropping down another string with a ball on it and thought we heard it hit something, , Oh stop laughing, some of you are imaging the whole picture, haha.I know it probably looked pretty stupid for four adults on all fours looking down this gopher hole, but anyway Ken went and got the shovel, since the gopher was not throwing Kathy’s balls back to us, and sure enough about a foot down there was Kathy’s balls. I’m sure anyone watching us, thought we were just weird people from Wisconsin. / Then there was a good DJ on Saturday night a the club house. So dinner, music and drinks and we called it a night. Sunday morning we headed out to Sunny Rest Campground on the east side of Pennsylvania, going to take a couple days so we can enjoy Ohio and Pennsylvania,. So on the road again, Will report later.
